How to return clearance items purchased from Orchard Outlet

14-Day Returns

You have the right to return items purchased online within 14 days of receipt under UK consumer law. Please adhere to the policy below.

Returning Clearance Items

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, provided items meet the conditions below. These conditions help us ensure returned items can be resold as new to other customers.

Items Must Be Returned In New Condition

Because our stock is limited clearance inventory, we need returned items to be in perfect condition so we can resell them. This means:

Unworn
Items should not have been worn. We understand you need to try items for fit, but please ensure they remain in pristine, unworn condition. Signs of wear such as marks, creasing from extended wearing, or odours mean we cannot resell the item.

All Original Tags Attached
Please keep all swing tags, labels and stickers attached to the items. These tags are part of the product and help us verify the item is in new condition. Items with removed tags cannot be processed as returns.

Original Packaging Included
Where items came in poly bags or protective packaging, please return them in this original packaging. This helps protect the item during return transit and ensures it arrives back in saleable condition.

Clean and Unwashed
Items must not have been washed, dry cleaned, or altered in any way. They should be in exactly the same condition as when they arrived.

Why These Conditions Matter

As a clearance outlet, our stock is already limited and discounted. When items are returned, we need to be able to resell them as new to other customers. Items that have been worn, have tags removed, or show any signs of use cannot be sold as new stock.

We want to be fair to all our customers - those buying new items expect them to be in perfect, unworn condition with all original tags and packaging intact.

Items We Cannot Accept

For hygiene and resale reasons, we cannot accept returns of:

  • Items that have been worn beyond trying on at home
  • Items with any tags, labels or stickers removed
  • Items without original packaging
  • Socks or tights that have been opened or tried on
  • Items that have been washed, altered or damaged
  • Items returned after the 14-day return window
  • Embroidered or printed items (these are classified as personalised goods and are non-returnable)

If returned items don't meet our conditions, we'll need to return them to you at your cost. We'll always contact you first to discuss options.

How to Return Items

Step 1: Fill Out Returns Form

Within 14 days of receiving your order, fill out a returns form and include it with your package. Please include the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Your email address
  • Order number
  • Items you are returning
  • Quantity of each item

You do not need to contact us before returning items.

Step 2: Pack Your Return Carefully

Please ensure all tags are still attached and items are in their original packaging. Include your completed returns form in the package. Pack items carefully to protect them during transit.

Please use Royal Mail Tracked 48 for your own protection - we cannot be held responsible for items lost in the post.

Return Postage: Customers cover the cost of return postage. We recommend using Royal Mail Tracked 48. Please keep proof of postage until your refund is processed.

Refunds

Once your return arrives with us, we'll inspect the items to ensure they meet our return conditions. If everything is in order, we'll process your refund within 14 days.

Refunds are issued to your original payment method. Please note that original delivery charges are not refundable, and you'll have paid the cost of return postage.

If Items Don't Meet Return Conditions

If returned items have been worn, have tags removed, or don't meet our conditions, we'll contact you to discuss options. We may need to return the items to you, with return postage charged to you.

We'll always communicate clearly and try to find a fair solution.

Faulty or Incorrect Items

Manufacturing Faults

If an item has a manufacturing fault, please contact us within 48 hours with photos. Please return the item to us and we will refund your postage up to the cost of Royal Mail Tracked 48, and provide a full refund or replacement.

Wrong Item Sent

If we've sent you the wrong item, please return it to us and we will refund your postage up to the cost of Royal Mail Tracked 48, and send the correct item or provide a full refund.

Damaged in Transit

Please check your order when it arrives. If anything is damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photos. Please return the item to us and we will refund your postage up to the cost of Royal Mail Tracked 48, and provide a replacement or full refund.

Important: For faulty items, wrong items, or damage in transit, please return the item to us and we will refund your return postage up to the cost of Royal Mail Tracked 48. You'll receive a full refund or replacement.

About Our Clearance Stock

All items at Orchard Outlet are brand new clearance stock from Orchard Workwear and Orchard Schoolwear. They're end of line or excess inventory, which is why they're priced lower than our main ranges.

The clearance pricing doesn't affect the quality of the items or your statutory rights - you still have 14 days to return items that are in new, unworn condition with all tags attached.
